“Begun in 2015 as a chart : 12 Sense Project is the umbrella for multiple offshoot projects that correlate to & stem from this original chart . Below , are images from a set of test Gameboxes I was sending back & forth with a volunteer artist in Stockholm from 2017-2022 .”

37 Gameboxes : like the casket – or – first book , each box contains elements from a previous stranger’s life – perhaps a photograph , a piece of writing , ripped page from a book , a smell , a stone . The strange ( étrange: fr. foreign) moments-of-being in place are now isolated inside a neutral space – the casket .
Each box contains : the disparate fragments that together create a puzzle of sorts – that discern through a series of games a labyrinth of the inner and outer senses of self .
Inside contained : the games – use a variety of different sense-isolation techniques that heighten and forge reconnection to space that is continuously hovering within changing place . When performed in new contemporary place while interacting with the discarded elements of a past foreign-self , the performer recognizes her own mutability , is no longer fearful of the changing iteration of self , and finds within her own being resonance of connectivity to space .
The boxes : each box is a transformed vessel : often an old cigar box , maybe a whiskey canister – they are the mundane objects that previously contained within them a vice for the obliteration of the senses – as often the casket does to the human form , and often we do while living to the human form . Put inside , only memory of personality is left outside contained within the vessel of the other , the stranger , or the self .
Objective : each box is sent to 37 participants around the world all of whom will perform the series of games inside each GameBox . Once complete , it is returned - now reconfigured .
Essentially , these boxes are storybooks .
They are made for interaction , meant to be deciphered , changed , and charged .
Their purpose : to re-enliven and re-forge techné through the maze of the inner and outer senses

Affected by environmental shifts & the digital revolution – the entire human sense of being is changing accordingly . This series of “games” attempts to unionize the inner sense of separateness and isolation so prevalent in today’s world .
Within this project ( that I began in 2015 ) - I hope we might all arrive back to a place of union within the self reflected through the “other” .
